Double the Aggies, double the fun
UC Davis welcomes all admits in first-ever combined Aggie Day event
This spring marks a new and reimagined Aggie Day, as UC Davis brings both admitted first-year and transfer students together on April 11 for an all-day, campuswide celebration.
More than 10,000 admitted students and their families will explore campus, experience UC Davis and discover what it means to be an Aggie.
“We are excited to provide the same event experience to both first-years and transfers,” said Amy Oleynik, event manager for UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions. “A combined day offers admits the opportunity to connect, much like they would on campus.”
A day that shapes decisions
Aggie Day runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers admits a look at life at UC Davis. The event includes tailored experiences for each group. First-year and transfer students can each access dedicated housing tours, targeted resource sessions and specific student services that support their distinct paths.
Signature offerings include campus tours, a resource and club fair, college open houses and financial aid presentations that play a critical role in the decision process.
New additions this year include tours of the Activities and Recreation Center, two celebration stations and presentations on Davis bike culture that give students a closer look at places and traditions unique to Davis.
The collective mission
More than 400 campus partners come together to collaborate on Aggie Day. Alongside the full Undergraduate Admissions team, countless advisors and staff members from different units help to power the event.
Some teams support guest arrival and help manage the large flow into campus while others lead sessions, give tours or organize activities throughout the day.
“We want to ensure that there is something for everyone,” Oleynik said. “Each experience and interaction reflects who we are. Together, that creates a high-level of energy and Aggie pride that makes the day feel memorable for all who come.”
