Kerk Brown joined UC Davis as chief administrative officer for Enrollment Management in October 2023. He oversees the full range of the organization’s business, human resources and financial activities. Brown has held several higher education leadership roles, including senior director of human resources and chief of staff for University Advancement at UC Irvine and director of human resources for the vice provost and dean of research at Stanford University. He is also a military veteran with over 26 years of service, retiring as an Army colonel. 

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and geography from the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York; a master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Air Command & Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; a master’s degree in human resources management from Troy State University in Montgomery, Alabama; and a master’s degree in advanced strategic studies from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
