uAchieve-FAQ

Frequently asked questions

UC Davis is transitioning to a new degree audit system, uAchieve, for advisors and students. This implementation also aligns the degree certification process for undergraduate students. uAchieve does not replace OASIS, only its degree audit and certification functions. Implementation began in late 2023 with completion targeted for 2026.

  • Why is the university implementing a new degree audit system?
  • The university currently has two degree audit systems, MyDegree and the degree certification audit in OASIS. While MyDegree is student facing, the solution has limitations in handling the UC Davis curriculum. The degree certification audit is not student facing. The uAchieve degree audit system was selected after a comprehensive search and review with the university community was conducted.
  • Why uAchieve?
  • The university-wide review concluded with the selection of uAchieve as the new degree audit system for UC Davis. The solution is a leader in higher education and currently used by four University of California campuses — Los Angeles, Merced, San Diego and Santa Barbara.
  • Will students be able to run their own degree audits?
  • Yes! The solution enables students to run audits at any time. As academic history and registration data feed to uAchieve in real time, students can see how their coursework applies to their degrees. Students can also run "what if" analyses to see how their coursework applies to a different program, a second major or minor. This information enables students to conduct richer conversations with their academic advisors — both on their current statuses as well as the possibility of changes to their programs of study.
  • Will MyDegree and the OASIS degree certification audit still be available?
  • Once uAchieve is fully operational, UC Davis will decommission MyDegree and the degree certification audit.
  • Will OASIS be affected?
  • Beyond decommissioning the OASIS degree certification audit, the implementation also includes review of three aspects of Oasis. The degree certification process, the processing of degree requirement exceptions (course substitutions, waivers, etc.), and curricular updates (majors, minors, academic options and catalog term) will be evaluated to determine the best path forward to facilitate these processes. Otherwise, the vast majority of OASIS functionality will remain unchanged.
  • How will undergraduate academic advisors be involved in the implementation?
  • Undergraduate academic advisors are involved in the various stages of the implementation. Early engagements include reviews of college or university degree requirements, the degree certification and exception processing. Next, the Office of the University Registrar will engage with all major advisors to review and test uAchieve for their majors (and minors). All academic advisors are asked to participate in training and testing of the system prior to deployment.
  • How long will the implementation take?
  • The implementation of the degree audit and associated OASIS updates is estimated to take approximately two and a half years.
  • How do I learn more about the progress of the implementation?
  • This website will be updated with the progress of the project's implementation. Please visit the Quarterly Updates section of this website for the most recent updates.
  • Can uAchieve be used for graduate and professional programs?
  • Absolutely! While the initial focus is encoding all undergraduate programs, uAchieve can be used for graduate and professional programs.
